Kinsley and I Collaborate on a Mini Weaving Project

My niece, Kinsley, is a seriously awesome kid. She's 6, and she is very into crafts.

My mom has to watch the shopping cart very carefully when she takes her to a craft store, because she's likely to pile the cart full of LOTS of things. Last time she visited us, I asked her if she'd be interested in making a little wall hanging using this mini loom that came with one of my Mollie Makes magazines. (I'm such a sucker for the little kits that come with the magazine.) Of course she said yes.

Kinsley didn't finish while she was here, so I scooted her progress down to the bottom and finished it up. I gave it to her for Christmas, hoping she'd want to hang it in her new "fort" that she's totally obsessed with. (It started as just blankets hanging over the bed, but it has turned in to so much more.)

This was the progress Kinsley made on her own while we watched the Trolls movie.

I loved doing the weaving, and I certainly have plenty of yarn to make a billion of them. I have a bigger loom, too, that I haven't used yet so perhaps someday... Sigh. Add it to the list of things I'll do all day when I'm independently wealthy.
