Festival of Lights Hanukkah Embroidery

Can you tell I've been crafting my face off this year? Cause I have.

This year, my friend Liz of cozyblue released a Hanukkah embroidery pattern. I've made a lot of Liz's patterns lately (see the Holiday Ornament Trio, for example) and I thought this one would be perfect for my mother-in-law.

I was way too lazy to trace all those pretty little details onto the fabric, so I took Liz's advice and used a magical product called Sticky Fabri-Solvy

It works great for PDF patterns, because you just print them right onto the Fabri-Solvy, then peel and stick it to your fabric. Stitch over top of it and once you're finished, just soak the embroidery in water to remove the sticky stuff. Liz says it also works well for patterns where you're stitching onto a dark fabric and can't really see your stitch line.

To make the back look neater, I trimmed the fabric then glued a piece of felt onto the back of the hoop.

Yay for Hanukkah patterns that are pretty and cool!
