Crocheted Legwarmers

Fall means boots. It also means crocheted legwarmers.

The photo above appeared on the Martha Stewart Living Instagram, taken by my lovely coworker Justine, who always makes me look cooler than I actually am.

This is my first time incorporating elastic thread into my crochet. Why have I never done this before? It made sure the legwarmers didn't slip into the boot and get all bunched up.

I  used Cascade 220 Superwash Wool in Silver Grey for mine, but you can also use a cotton or acrylic if you are going for asthetics rather than warmth.

The pattern for the legwarmers can be found in the new Lark Crafts book, Crochet Boutique. (I have my eye on several more patterns in there!)

Are you making anything for fall and winter?

  1. Oh, I just bought this book! I'm wanting to make that scarf from the cover first. I also have been eyeing those legwarmers. Yours turned out great! They look like a quick and easy project.
