Alex's New Knit Socks

Spring weather doesn't stop me from knitting socks. I just finished this pair with some yarn I picked up at Purl's Yarn Emporium last year. (I can't tell you how proud I am to be finishing projects with yarn I bought just last year. Progress!)

Pattern: my own cuff-down pattern (64-stitch cast on) with purling on the front, knitting on the back

We haven't washed these yet, but I'm excited to see how they turn out after they're washed. This is one of the softest yarns I've ever made socks with, and I love the colors. I'll definitely knit with this yarn again.

I intended on a garter stitch instep for these, but I got lost in thought and just kept purling all the way down. The socks curl up a little when Alex isn't wearing them, but they stretch out with the negative ease so that didn't affect the fit. Phew.
